he integrated three-year pediatric residency training program at UT Southwestern Medical School offers residents a wide variety of educational and research opportunities. The program is coordinated by the chairman of pediatrics with input from the co-chief residents, the faculty and the housestaff of Children's Medical Center Dallas and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Children's, the primary pediatric teaching facility for UT Southwestern, is devoted to UT Southwestern's training of future generations of pediatricians through its participation in the residency training program. With its mission to make life better for children, Children's is continually recognized as one of the country's preeminent children's hospitals. The affiliation between UT Southwestern and Children's provides a unique opportunity for residents to receive training in a world-class academic center with the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of childhood disorders.
At Parkland, residents gain valuable experience in the neonatal intensive care and intermediate care nurseries, new special care nurseries and a unique trauma medical intensive care unit.
